Seal Beach sports camp owner arrested, accused of molesting boy

The owner of a well-known Seal Beach sports camp has been arrested on suspicion of molesting a boy he met through his program eight years ago.

Scott Durzo, 49, the owner of Scott Durzo’s Total Sports Camp, was arrested on suspicion of committing multiple lewd acts with a child under 14, according to a statement from the Seal Beach Police Department posted by Orange County Breeze.

The Seal Beach resident is being held without bail at Central Men’s Jail in Santa Ana, according to sheriff’s department records. Charges are expected to be filed by the Orange County district attorney’s office.

The year-round sports camp serves the Seal Beach, Surfside, Rossmoor, Los Alamitos, Los Altos, Long Beach, Cypress and Huntington Beach communities.

Durzo was also previously a basketball coach at Los Alamitos High School.
