Arcadia man arrested in alleged pot-growing operation

Arcadia police seize 438 marijuana plants from house outfitted with lights, ventilation

Arcadia police seized 438 marijuana plants late Saturday and arrested a 60-year-old man suspected of growing them in a house, officials said.

A conversation with a person near a suspicious vehicle parked in the 2000 block of South 6th Avenue at about 10 p.m. led officers to a nearby home where the plants were being grown, police said in a statement Sunday.

The growing operation "consisted of several rooms with lighting, ventilation and electrical wiring run through the house,” according to the statement.

Police arrested Yong Fa Jiang of Arcadia on suspicion of cultivating marijuana. He was released Sunday after posting $10,000 bail, said Sgt. Dan Crowther, who did not have information about Jiang’s arraignment date
