Republican National Committee: An article in Tuesday’s Section A on challenges to the leadership of Michael Steele at the Republican National Committee referred imprecisely to the roles of Karl Rove and Ed Gillespie in a new GOP fundraising group, American Crossroads. Although Rove and Gillespie are supporters and advocates of the new venture, they will hold no formal, day-to-day roles within the organization.
IPad apps: An article in Friday’s Business section about iPad software reported that some applications cost as much as 500% more for the iPad than they did for the iPhone. The largest increase was 400%.
Design consultant: In Saturday’s Home section, an article about fashion entrepreneur Claire Stansfield misspelled the last name of design consultant Channon Roe as Ro.
Diane Watson retirement: Articles on Feb. 11, 12 and 14 in the LATExtra section about the retirement of Rep. Diane Watson described her as having been the first black woman elected to the Los Angeles Board of Education, in 1975. The board’s records show that Fay E. Allen held that distinction; she was elected in 1939. Articles in 1991 and 2001 included the same error.
