Villaraigosa deserves privacy
Re “Private life may cost mayor publicly,” June 16
Shame on The Times for printing a snipe full of anonymous quotes from alleged “friends” on L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s personal life. No name-withholding “friend” who had a “fear of embarrassing” the mayor and his wife would have even called you back (as I didn’t) on this non-story.
Nearly half of all the state’s elected officials (and I know them all) have gone through a breakup or divorce, and it’s difficult enough to get through without daily blogs (posing as news) desperately searching for a way to keep the issue alive. Leave the guy alone and give us some news, political analysis and fact. How about returning to journalism?
