Wisconsin, Maryland, D.C. primaries: Live coverage
Now that April is here, pussyfooting is no longer required in the Republican presidential race. The Republican National Committee’s rules forced most states holding primaries in January through March to award delegates proportionately, making a narrow loss practically as good as a win. Tonight, though, voters in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Wisconsin will vote in old-fashioned winner-take-all primaries.
And judging from the polls, that¿s going to be a boon for Mitt Romney. By evening¿s end, he could claim all 98 delegates at stake in the three primaries. Rival Rick Santorum isn¿t even on the ballot in the District of Columbia, where 19 delegates are at stake. Yes, there are Republicans who live in the District of Columbia; in fact, its delegate cache is a bigger prize than nearby Delaware¿s.
