Roberts’ conservatism

Share

In his article on Supreme Court nominee John Roberts’ conservative activism against the expansion of the Voting Rights Act in 1982 (Opinion, Aug. 3), Richard L. Hasen might have added that the House rejected Roberts’ position by a 389-24 vote, and the Senate by 85 to 8. Roberts was an extreme opponent of minority voting rights in 1982. Does anyone honestly believe he will vote differently on the high court?
