Two questions for five district attorney candidates
In preparing to endorse a candidate for Los Angeles County district attorney, The Times' editorial board invited each of them to discuss their views on the death penalty and on the new responsibility that the state is giving to counties to supervise many convicted felons. Five candidates — Bobby Grace, Alan Jackson, Jackie Lacey, Danette E. Meyers and Carmen Trutanich — participated. The sixth, John L. Breault III, did not respond to numerous Times requests and does not appear in the video series. In these videos, the candidates answer the questions: (1) Do you want California to keep the death penalty? and (2) How would you deal with the county's new responsibility for felons under prison realignment?
