Obviously, it's a very personal decision for anyone, famous or not.
Fortunately, it's less and less of a big deal. In the past half-decade, there's been a dramatic shift in American attitudes from being against gay marriage to being accepting of it. Still, the more that gay people acknowledge that they're gay, the more that fosters acceptance of and respect for gay people.
And clearly, when a guy on one of the most popular shows on cable, "Duck Dynasty," is spewing homophobic rants in the national media, there's still some consciousness-raising left to do.
