To the editor: Leonard Nimoy and I were seatmates on a flight from Los Angeles to San Antonio in the late 1960s. ("Not just Spock: Leonard Nimoy's arts trek covered many galaxies," Feb. 27)
After the perfunctory intro chat, Nimoy talked about an upcoming sound system and home theater installation at his house. He was somewhat apprehensive about it. As an electronics engineer and audiologist, I was able to put him at ease by giving him many pointers, which he wrote down.
Unlike his less-talented peers who would bore you to death with their self-importance, Nimoy was an absolute delight to converse with — just another human being on a business trip.
May he rest in peace.
