Applications being accepted for Cox Charities grants
Laguna Beach nonprofit organizations are encouraged to apply for grant money offered by Cox Charities, a charitable foundation of Cox Communications.
Cox Charities will award $50,000 in grants to Orange County and Palos Verdes nonprofits that support initiatives regarding youth, education, conservation and the military, according to a news release.
Grant applications must be submitted by Aug. 31.
The Cox Charities advisory board, made up of Cox employee volunteers, will consider requests up to $5,000. An additional $5,000 will be awarded to the organization with the most votes and retweets in an online and Twitter public voting campaign that will run in mid-October.
To qualify, organizations must show measurable results from a program they offer and provide information about outreach through websites and social media, the release said.
For more information and to fill out an application, visit coxcharitiesca.org/2015-oc-nonprofit-grants.html.
Nonprofits will be notified beginning Oct. 12.
Cox Charities, formerly Cox Cares Foundation, is funded by employee payroll deductions that are matched by the company, according to the foundation’s website.
