Cable Company Is a Late Arrival to Dodgers Game
Some Time Warner Cable subscribers in the Los Angeles area were deprived of watching the start of Sunday’s Dodgers-Padres game.
Instead of getting FSN Prime Ticket’s telecast, they got FSN Northwest’s coverage of the Seattle Mariners’ game at Kansas City until the problem was rectified in the second inning.
Complaints received by The Times came from Time Warner Cable subscribers located in the western and northern parts of Los Angeles County.
According to Jennifer Johnson, a spokesperson for FSN West and FSN Prime Ticket, a technician at FSN’s network management center in Houston solved the problem via satellite by rebooting Time Warner’s receiving equipment.
Time Warner Cable subscriber Dixon Ridgway of the Palms area said after several tries he got through to someone in customer service and was told the game was not being shown because it wasn’t a sellout. But Time Warner spokeswoman Patti Rockenwagner acknowledged that was incorrect information.
More data was needed to determine what caused the problem, the timing of which was especially bad for Time Warner Cable.
The company had already angered many Southern California sports fans by cutting off NFL Network at midnight Friday.
