Hollywood says Ciao Bella!

As summer headed toward fall, the parties rolled on heartily in Hollywood: Last Thursday, Adolfo Suaya and the Dolce Group opened its new Hollywood restaurant and lounge, Bella, which follows hot on the heels of their Geisha House. Among those who checked out the swanky new spot was Jesse Metcalf, one of Bella’s investors.... And at Cuttino Mobley’s party at LAX nightclub in Hollywood on Friday were Mischa Barton, who rolled in with rocker Cisco Adler, Nicole Richie, Janice Dickinson, Brandon Davis and Jerry Buss. The Lakers owner chatted up Minnesota Timberwolf Kevin Garnett for 20 minutes.... So how does Us Weekly get into a Bolthouse party? By hiring the promotions company to throw them a bash. “The Last Time,” a comedy with Michael Keaton and Brendan Fraser, was filming in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina hit. Now the producers, Element Films, will co-host a fundraiser at Shelter on Friday night, with the $20 cover going to the Red Cross.... Fans are already lining up at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood for a close-up of their favorite princess, “Cinderella.” On Sept. 15, the moviehouse kicks off an 11-day run of the 1950-animated flick -- all gussied up with a digital face-lift. Good times for Hugo’s owner

We spotted Annie Lennox at the Valley’s new favorite Mexican chow joint, Hugo’s Tacos.... And while we’re on the subject of Hugo’s, owner Richard Brenner tells us he’s made some sweet changes to Highland Grounds, his Hollywood coffeehouse/nightclub. In honor of its new liquor license, the venerable hangout now boasts a new bar, lighting system and is booking loads of DJs early in the week.... Stopped by Dragon Bar in Hermosa Beach over the weekend and was immediately depressed by the mass-marketing campaign on the beach itself. Those who planned to chill out on the white sands got ambushed by planes, choppers and sailboats promoting various upcoming television shows. The only upside was at least NBC’s “Surface” gave out free beach umbrellas. You could shield yourself from the hype.... And while we’re on the South Bay, longtime Redondo Beach music club Latitudes closed over the weekend. No details were available at press time.... Last night at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Stuff magazine was scheduled to celebrate its “Stuff Style Awards.” Among the RSVPs were Travis Barker and his wife Shanna Moakler, Nick Cannon and Shannon Elizabeth.

Cyber singles point, click, date

Also scheduled for last night was downtown’s Golden Gopher’s first cyber singles mixer, where a company called OneKeyAway gets your info in advance, then programs it into a gadget that you point at someone across the bar to get your compatibility rating. Excellent way to avoid small talk.... We hear Peter Famulari, owner of the upcoming Boulevard 3 at the former Hollywood Athletic Club, is offering guests a personalized concierge service. And a separate venue at the same location, the upcoming restaurant Social Hollywood (owned by Jeffrey Chodorow) is going glam and will include a private screening room. Nice.... Fans can pony up to L.A.’s El Guapo Cantina, which is offering a free Bloody Mary bar on NFL Sundays. Even better, they’re offering a cab service.... Save the Date: Warped Tour founders are teaming up to help Hurricane Katrina victims with a big hoo-ha on Oct. 8 at Irvine Meadows called Unite the United, featuring tons of Warped bands, past and present.
