Anyone know where Dodgers could nab a couple of decent outfielders?

Like we were all saying, the Dodgers sure could use another starting outfielder. No? Wasn’t it something like that?

Remember that star-studded group of four outfielders? At the moment, it’s down to one -- Matt Kemp.

Yasiel Puig and Andre Ethier are struggling, and in truth have been for a while. Carl Crawford is still rehabbing his sprained ankle, seemingly starting over after thought to being close two weeks ago.

Puig had a tremendous 30-game stretch where he batted .405 and skyrocketed to second in the National League in batting. In his 19 games since that stretch, he’s hit .214 (15 of 70), with no homers and seven RBIs. Despite hitting the ball hard twice Monday, he’s currently in an 0-for-11 slump.

His switch to batting third in the lineup has hardly paid off. In 108 at-bats in that spot, Puig has driven in seven runs. In 119 at-bats in the second spot, he has 30 RBIs.

Ethier’s fall-off has been even more precipitous. After batting .298 in May he’s hitting just .193 (11 for 57) in June with no homers and just one measly RBI. He hasn’t homered since May 27, and since that time has only two doubles. This from a guy who’s had at least 30 doubles in each of his seven full-time seasons.

Kemp, meanwhile, has hit .338 (27 for 80) in his last 22 games with six doubles, two homers and 15 RBIs.

And No. 5 outfielder Scott Van Slyke, hitting almost exclusively against left-handers, is batting .357 (10 for 28) in his last 13 games.

All while two-thirds of their normal slumping outfield slumps. There’s not much the Dodgers can do but hope it’s just one of those lousy stretches. They’re not calling up Joc Pederson unless it’s to play every day.

Of course, the trading deadline is still a month away …
