Girls’ basketball: Mater Dei leads 38-33 at halftime
It’s halftime and Mater Dei leads the CIF Open Division state championship game 38-33 over St. Mary’s at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley.
Andee Velasco leads the Monarchs with 15 points and three assists. UConn-bound Katie Lou Samuelson has nine points and six rebounds but also has three personal fouls.
Mi’Cole Clayton has 15 points for St. Mary’s, which trailed 17-11 after the first quarter.
