Boys’ basketball: Sierra Canyon (9-1) gets national exposure in TV win

Chatsworth Sierra Canyon gave a boost to Southern California basketball on Friday, beating Maryland power DeMatha, 65-60, in a nationally televised game in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Sierra Canyon improved to 9-1 in handing DeMatha its first defeat.

Sophomore Cody Riley scored 22 points for the Trailblazers, who won a tournament championship this past week in Rancho Mirage. Sophomore Adam Seiko added 15 points.

Sierra Canyon has another game in Arizona on Saturday against Arizona Tempe Corona del Sol.

It will be an individual matchup of the 6-foot-9 Riley against 6-10 freshman Marvin Bagley.
