Girls’ basketball: Fountain Valley finishes 0-27 after 76-4 playoff loss to Redondo

Will someone please step forward to offer evidence that it was a good idea to allow Fountain Valley to enter the Southern Section Division 1AA girls’ basketball playoffs with an 0-26 record?

Fountain Valley had its chance to play on Thursday night and was beaten by Redondo, 76-4.

Let’s hope another situation like this doesn’t happen again.

Fountain Valley made the decision to fill out the paperwork and apply for an at-large berth. Because 11 teams were removed from 1AA to play in the Open Division, there was a spot.

But that doesn’t mean it was the correct decision.
