Some tickets for Kings-Ducks game in Stadium Series getting cheaper
Prices for a category of seating for a highly anticipated Kings-Ducks game at Dodger Stadium on Jan. 25 are being dropped from $249 to either $189 or $199, according to Kings spokesman Mike Altieri.
The move was made with the Stadium Series game less than a month away after sales at the higher price point were less than brisk and the subject of some fan displeasure. But the NHL, not the Kings or Ducks, sets the prices and corrected the miscalculation now rather than later.
Fans who already purchased $249 tickets will be refunded the difference. Altieri said Thursday that the event is 80% sold out, adding that total capacity is “still being defined,” but expected to be similar to that of a Dodgers game, about 54,000.
Back to the ice
The Kings resume their post-Christmas schedule Saturday at Nashville. Their American Hockey League affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs, played Thursday night against the visiting Portland Pirates.
Manchester was without center Linden Vey, who was a healthy scratch for violating a team rule, according to Kings assistant general manager Rob Blake. Vey’s transgression was being late for practice Thursday morning after the holiday break.
Vey, who has 13 points in 12 games for the Monarchs, was sent down to Manchester last week after center Colin Fraser was activated from injured reserve. In 14 games with the Kings, Vey had five assists.
