UCLA begins four-game homestand against UC Irvine on Sunday
UCLA plays UC Irvine on Sunday afternoon to start a four-game homestand against opponents from lesser conferences before facing Michigan on Dec. 9 in Ann Arbor.
The No. 23 Bruins (4-1) have four players averaging double figures in scoring: Aaron Holiday (17.2 points per game), Kris Wilkes (14.2), Thomas Welsh (13.2) and Jaylen Hands (12.0).
Holiday completed his team’s comeback from a 12-point deficit in the first half against Wisconsin on Tuesday when he made a driving layup with nine-tenths of a second left to lift the Bruins to a 72-70 victory.
UC Irvine (3-4) defeated winless Northern Arizona, 77-71, on Friday in the Las Vegas Invitational to snap a three-game losing streak.
Eyassu Worku scored 13 points for the Anteaters and Max Hazzard, the grandson of former UCLA point guard and coach Walt Hazzard, had 12.
Game time is 3 p.m. at Pauley Pavilion. The game will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks and can be heard on 570 AM radio.
