If it’s Monday, the Arizona Cardinals must be looking for a quarterback.

Last week, they signed Tim Rattay as a backup to Kurt Warner, who took over for the injured Matt Leinart. Now Warner is out indefinitely because of a sprained left elbow, Rattay is the starter, and the Cardinals are expected to sign Tim Hasselbeck as soon as they clear a roster spot.

Warner had an MRI exam Monday, but after Sunday’s game he said he was having trouble gripping the ball with his left hand.

“I have no strength in there,” Warner said. “I couldn’t really move it.”

Results of an MRI exam on Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young’s strained right quadriceps weren’t immediately available. Coach Jeff Fisher said Young was day to day.

“He could not practice today,” Fisher said. “But it’s not as bad as we thought.”

The Titans will be without receiver Brandon Jones, who had arthroscopic surgery on his knee and will be out a week or two.

Marc Bulger plans to return to the St. Louis Rams’ lineup this week. Coach Scott Linehan said Bulger would be cleared to play at Seattle.

Kyle Boller will start at quarterback for a second consecutive week Sunday in Buffalo, Baltimore’s final game before a bye. The Ravens said Steve McNair could play, but they would prefer he rest his lingering groin injury and sore back.

Priest Holmes, who hasn’t played or practiced since October 2006, will begin practicing Wednesday. Asked when Holmes, 34, might play, Kansas City Coach Herm Edwards said, “We’ll see.”

While the San Diego Chargers awaited word on the severity of center Nick Hardwick’s right foot injury, defensive tackle Jamal Williams underwent arthroscopic surgery on both knees.

Coach Norv Turner said that “with a little luck,” Williams would be able to play against Houston on Oct. 28 after the Chargers’ bye week. Turner said Hardwick could be out three to four weeks.

Seattle defensive tackle Chuck Darby tore the patella tendon in his right knee and will sit out the rest of the season. He was put on injured reserve.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Trent Green, 37, said he hopes to play again despite concerns about long-term repercussions from his second severe concussion in 13 months. Green has been sidelined since a concussion Oct. 7 at Houston, but he added that his test results were normal and the symptoms of his latest concussion were less serious.

The second half of CBS’ NFL doubleheader Sunday, which featured the New England-Dallas game in most of the country, earned a national overnight rating of 18.5 with a 35 share. The 18.5 is the highest regular-season overnight rating for CBS since it reacquired NFL rights in 1998. In Los Angeles, which got the San Diego-Oakland game, the rating was a 10.9 with a 26 share. The 10.9 is the third-highest for an NFL regular-season game on Channel 2 over the last four seasons.
