Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes spoke with reporters Wednesday for the first time since his wife’s arrest Sunday outside Sun Life Stadium. Not surprisingly, he had little to say about the incident.tmpplchld “Miko is fine,” Grimes said of his wife, who faces two felony charges and a misdemeanor after allegedly head-butting a cop before the game against Buffalo (she was also fired Wednesday from her co-host job on WQAM). “I really don’t want to talk about what happened with Miko. That will handle itself.”tmpplchld Is her arrest _ and the widespread media attention it has generated _ a distraction?tmpplchld “I’m good,” Grimes said. “I’m a football player. As I always say, stuff will happen, but you have to focus on your job.”tmpplchld Eventually, the conversation switched to football, and Grimes might have been the first player in NFL history to be happy to be asked about a blowout loss.tmpplchld The Dolphins’ defense was exposed in a 41-14 loss to the Bills, and breakdowns in the secondary were a big reason.tmpplchld “That game sucked,” Grimes said. “Everybody saw it. Nobody played well. It was a bad day. It happens sometimes, it’s happened to other teams. There were other teams during that week that had horrible games like that. It will show a lot, how we bounce back from it.”tmpplchld Dolphins coach Joe Philbin on Monday left the door open to lineup changes, but early signs are the team will stick with Brice McCain at the starting cornerback spot alongside Grimes.tmpplchld McCain has allowed 63.6 percent of the passes thrown in his coverage area this season to be completed, and through three games is surrendering nearly 17 yards per completion.tmpplchld On Sunday, Sammy Watkins got behind McCain for a 39-yard catch.tmpplchld “I gave up one deep ball,” McCain said. “Everybody’s making dramatic stuff about one deep ball. He didn’t score. I tackled him. Everybody in the league gives up deep balls. I don’t understand what the big deal is. I gave up one deep ball, back to back weeks. One, and the rest were like 5 yards and under.”tmpplchld ___tmpplchld (c)2015 Miami Heraldtmpplchld Visit Miami Herald at www.miamiherald.comtmpplchld Distributed by Tribune Content Agency, LLC.tmpplchld
