Charles Barkley on Dwight Howard: He’s really getting on my nerves
The Dwight Howard saga has begun to irritate some of Howard’s biggest supporters.
On Thursday, Charles Barkley went on Philadelphia radio station 97.5 and said, “I love Dwight Howard as a person and as a player, but he’s getting on my last damn nerve.”
Howard’s indecision has become as unpalatable as LeBron James’ decision.
“The last 24 hours it’s been all Dwight Howard, nonstop,” Barkley said. “It’s not fun; nobody wants to hear it. It’s not good for the game, not good for the fans. I’m really sick of it.”
The disgruntled Orlando Magic center has been dominating headlines for months as he mulls over which teams he’d be willing to play for.
Two weeks ago, Barkley told ESPNDallas that Howard “needs to grow up and make a decision.”
Howard, who can become a free agent at the end of the upcoming season, had said that the only team he would re-sign with is Brooklyn.
But trade talks between the Magic and the Nets broke down earlier this week and the Nets agreed to terms with center Brook Lopez on a four-year, $60-million deal.
