Clippers’ Jamal Crawford will play against Sacramento

After sitting out the last five games with a strained left calf, Clippers guard Jamal Crawford will play Saturday against the Sacramento Kings at Staples Center.

Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said that Crawford, who hasn’t played in a game since March 29 at Houston, will probably see limited playing time.

“There is no minute restriction, but there will be,” Rivers said Saturday morning. “We’re not going to go out there and throw him out there for 30 minutes, I can tell you that. So there’s not an actual minutes restriction, but there is a restriction.”

Crawford has missed 13 total games with the injury he first sustained Feb. 26 against the Rockets.

He sat out three games when the injury first occurred, played in one, sat out five more, played in five and then missed the last five.

With just three regular season games left and the playoffs starting next weekend, Rivers wants to be cautious with Crawford, who is third on the team in scoring at 18.6 points a game.

“Well, we’re 0 for 2 in the comebacks of Jamal so far,” Rivers said. “So we’ll keep a close eye on him.”

Danny Granger missed his seventh consecutive game with a strained left hamstring, leaving Rivers to say, “I don’t know how he’s progressing.”
