A lot was on the line in Thursday’s NBA Finals Game 7 between the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs.

Would the Heat be able to repeat as champions? Would an aging Spurs roster be able to dethrone the reigning champs? Would fans who left early during Game 6 repeat the same error in Game 7?

Chief among the concerns was this: Would LeBron James be in a good mood before his big day? His other big day, that is.

After the Heat beat the Spurs, 95-88, James joked that had the Heat lost, his off-season plans could have been altered to altar-less.

“I got a wedding coming up with my beautiful fiancee,” James said after the game. “It will be an unbelievable wedding now that we’ve won instead of losing. I might have called it off if we had lost. So now it’s going to be one of the best weddings ever.”

James is set to marry his longtime girlfriend, Savannah Brinson, the weekend of Sept. 13-15 in San Diego.
