USC basketball: Center Jabari Craig will not be part of incoming class
Jabari Craig, a 6-foot-10 center who signed a letter of intent to play basketball at USC this season, did not qualify for admission, a school spokesman confirmed.
Craig played last season at Fishburne Military Academy in Waynesboro, Va.
ESPN’s Jeff Goodman first reported Craig’s status.
USC Coach Andy Enfield hoped Craig would be part of an incoming class that includes forward Elijah Stewart, the Los Angeles City Section player of the year from Westchester High; point guard Jordan McLaughlin; forward Malik Price-Martin and wing Malik Marquetti.
USC finished 11-21 and 2-16 in the Pac-12 Conference last season.
Byron Wesley, USC’s leading scorer last season, announced in May that he would transfer to Gonzaga.
