USC football: Punter Kris Albarado chosen a Pac-12 player of week
USC punter Kris Albarado was selected the Pac-12 Conference special teams player of the week for his performance in the Trojans’ 17-14 victory over Utah State.
Albarado, a third-year sophomore from Louisiana, placed five of seven punts inside the 20-yard line, including two inside the five.
Albarado’s effort helped USC defeat Utah State on a day when the Trojans offense stalled for much of the second half.
Albarado, who succeeded Kyle Negrete as the Trojans’ punter, is averaging 40.3 yards per punt.
The Trojans play at Arizona State on Saturday night.
