Parker leads Sparks in 99-78 win over Aces
Candace Parker had a season-high 34 points and finished one assist shy of a triple double as the Sparks beat the Las Vegas Aces 99-78 on Sunday.
Parker— who also had 11 rebounds and nine assists — scored 13 during a 26-5 fourth-quarter run that gave the Sparks a 92-72 lead with 2:16 remaining.
Neither team led by more than six and there were 19 lead changes before the Sparks (14-9) pulled away. Las Vegas had a 9-2 run to lead 63-62 late in the third quarter.
Chelsea Gray added 22 points, Nneka Ogwumike scored 15 and Essence Carson 11. Los Angeles made 10 of 20 attempts from 3-point range. Kayla McBride had 18 points and A’ja Wilson added 15 points and eight rebounds for the Aces (10-13), who had their four-game winning streak snapped.
