Former USC tight end Dale Thompson is building an NFL career off the field.

Thompson, who played for the Trojans from 2004 to 2007, is a scout for the Tennessee Titans, and he oversaw the weigh-in this week for the Senior Bowl.

Thompson, 29, started his career as an intern for the Seattle Seahawks and then worked for the club as a scout before joining the Titans five years ago.

“I worked in-house for a couple years and then I finally got on the road,” he said. “I enjoy it. It’s going well.”

During Tuesday’s weigh-in, Thompson announced the name of each player before they came on stage to be measured for height and weight.

How did he draw that assignment?

“I don’t know,” he said, laughing. “I just got picked. I was fine with it. Hopefully, I did a good job.”

Former Trojans defensive back Mozique McCurtis also was at the Senior Bowl as a scout. McCurtis works for the Houston Texans.
