Coach Steve Sarkisian said he wants USC to produce more “explosive” plays on offense.

Sophomore receiver Darreus Rogers is remaining patient.

“You have to take it step by step, you can’t rush into things,” Rogers said. “Going downfield, it’s new to us, so we are getting a good feel for it, so we got to keep taking shots.”

Rogers caught two passes for 20 yards, including a 14-yarder, in the Trojans’ 28-26 victory Saturday over Arizona.

“I just want to be successful as a team,” he said, “and if it comes to running, or even passing down the field, I’m just trying to win. “

Rogers has 13 receptions for 176 yards and two touchdowns.

USC plays Colorado on Saturday at the Coliseum.
