Isaac Whitney, a receiver at Riverside City College, announced he would attend USC on Thursday and signed a financial-aid agreement with the school.

“I picked the Trojans for every reason,” said Whitney, who selected USC over West Virginia.

Whitney, 6 feet 4 and 200 pounds, said the anticipated return of quarterback Cody Kessler swayed him to choose the Trojans.

“I just want somebody really good to throw me the ball,” he said.

Whitney has two seasons of eligibility remaining and will enroll at USC in January.

An Oklahoma native, Whitney played a season at Division II Central Oklahoma before moving to Southern California and transferring to Riverside.

Whitney is the second junior college receiver to commit to USC, joining De’Quan Hampton of Long Beach City College.

Six scholarships remain in USC’s 2015 recruiting class.
