Although the vocals were never quite loud enough in the mix, MGMT -- founded at Wesleyan by singer and guitarist Andrew VanWyngarden (above) and keyboardist and singer Ben Goldwasser -- proved to be a skillful live band, handling sprawling, spacey jams with the same ease it showed on tighter numbers.
