Target is not banning shoppers from carting firearms through its stores, as many news outlets are reporting. "This is a request and not a prohibition," said Molly Snyder, a group manager from Target's public relations department.  In its "Bullseye View" blog Wednesday, Target said, "Our approach has always been to follow local laws...but starting today we will also respectfully request that guests not bring firearms to Target – even in communities where it is permitted by law."
