It’s a funny business. Flying high in April, pushed aside in October. The Sporting News released its annual Executive of the Year award Monday, including all nine who received votes from the panel of 33 major league executives. Baltimore’s Dan Duquette won it, but tying for sixth place was the Dodgers’ very own Ned Colletti. Admittedly, he received only one vote – the same as the Yankees’ Brian Cashman, the Mariners’ Jack Zduriencik and the Brewers’ Doug Melvin.
