Mets defeat Dodgers, 2-1, by scoring a run off Kenley Jansen

KEY MOMENT: With the game tied, 1-1, closer Kenley Jansen gave up a double to Lucas Duda to start the ninth inning. Jansen then failed to field a weak comebacker by Wilmer Flores, resulting in an infield hit that advanced Duda to third base. Duda scored on a sacrifice fly by Kevin Plawecki to break the stalemate. AT THE PLATE: Adrian Gonzalez increased his season home run total to 14, as he took Noah Syndergaard deep to center in the second inning to move the Dodgers in front, 1-0. The run was the only one the Dodgers scored against Syndergaard over six innings, as the hard-throwing Mets rookie limited them to two hits and two walks.
