The Clippers waived small forward Jordan Hamilton on Saturday, creating flexibility by opening a spot on their roster. They previously had been at the NBA maximum of 15 players.
Hamilton appeared in 14 games with the Clippers last season, making two starts and averaging 2.7 points, 1.1 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 8.7 minutes per game after joining the team in late February.
Coach Doc Rivers had praised Hamilton's offensive potential but acknowledged concerns about whether the 24-year-old could play the kind of defense that would make him a rotation player.
