CdM football team volunteers on skid row

When you mention the Corona del Mar High football team on a Friday, you always expect something positive to happen.

You mostly hear about what the Sea Kings do on the field, which is a lot of winning, but it’s their contributions off the field that mean the most to the coaches.

While the season opener is six weeks away, the Sea Kings teamed up for a great cause last Friday.

Twenty-five players went to skid row in downtown Los Angeles to learn about the issues affecting the homeless and to help clean the streets and feed those less fortunate. The Sea Kings spent the whole day volunteering at the Union Rescue Mission, a homeless shelter on skid row.
