San Diego linebacker Manti Te’o will miss the rest of the season because of a torn left Achilles’ tendon, the Chargers said Monday. The fourth-year pro from Notre Dame was hurt during Sunday's 26-22 loss at Indianapolis.
The Chargers (1-2) have lost a key player for the season in each of their three games. Receiver Keenan Allen suffered a torn knee ligament in a season-opening loss at Kansas City. Running back Danny Woodhead suffered the same injury in a home win over Jacksonville.
Te’o was chosen as a team captain after leading the Chargers with 107 tackles last season.
