Local athletes sign with colleges

On the first day of the final signing period of the year in sports outside of football, men’s and women’s soccer, and men’s water polo, many local seniors committed to colleges on Wednesday.

In baseball, Edison infielder Kyler Arenado and pitcher Jared Sasaki signed a national letter of intent with UC Davis, an NCAA Division I program, while Sage Hill pitcher Brett Super (Pomona-Pitzer) and outfielder Jack Pelc (University of Puget Sound) are bound to NCAA Division III schools. Last season, Super and Pelc led Sage Hill to a CIF Southern Section Division 6 title, the program’s first section crown.
