The NHL playoffs were a win-win for Marian Gaborik. He helped spark the Kings to the Stanley Cup with a league-best 14 playoff goals and also established his value as he headed toward free agency. Exactly what he would have been worth on the open market won’t be known. Gaborik on Wednesday signed a seven-year, $34.125-million contract with the Kings with an annual average salary-cap charge of $4.875 million.
