Ducks acquire Eric Brewer following injury to Francois Beauchemin

The Ducks moved to patch another hole in their defense Friday, acquiring veteran defenseman Eric Brewer from the Tampa Bay Lightning. The trade was announced along with news that Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin suffered a broken finger in Tuesday’s home victory over the Calgary Flames and will be sidelined four to six weeks. The team also placed defenseman Clayton Stoner (mumps) on injured reserve. Stoner missed his third game Friday, but could be activated at any time, with Saturday’s game in San Jose a possibility.
