Millennials fuel rise of for-profit recreation leagues

Like many of his friends, Fred Schiller spent much of his youth in organized sports. From wrestling to basketball, Schiller enjoyed staying fit in an activity that provided a physical outlet and a steady social circle. But once the 26-year-old Parkland High School graduate emerged into full-fledged adulthood, his motivation to exercise seeped away. Solo trips to the gym weren't the same. And attempts at pickup basketball games were frustratingly unsuccessful. What Schiller craved was a team.
