Missy Franklin wins record sixth gold at swimming world championships

Missy Franklin became the most decorated swimmer in world championships history with six gold medals when the U.S. won the women's 400-meter medley relay Sunday in Barcelona, Spain. The 18-year-old from Centennial, Colo., eclipsed the mark of five set by American Tracy Caulkins in 1978 and Australian Libby Trickett in 2007. Franklin, who won four golds and a bronze at the 2012 London Games, joins American men Michael Phelps and Mark Spitz as well as German woman Kristin Otto with six golds in either a world or Olympic competition.
