In need of some midweek pampering on the cheap or a quick casino getaway? Check out this deal from Peppermill Resort Spa Casino in Reno. Airfare and three nights at the sprawling Nevada resort costs $99 per person on dates in January and in April.

The deal: Everything at the Peppermill Resort has been built on a grand scale. The Tuscan-style resort flanked by modern towers has 1,635 rooms and suites, two pools, nine restaurants and 16 bars and lounges.

And big doesn’t mean bad. The resort earned its fifth year as a AAA Four Diamond property for 2015.

The Peppermill Flyaway Deal, previously priced at $169 per person, costs $99 per person, based on double occupancy, and includes:

--round-trip flights from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) aboard a charter MD-80 plane;

--three nights in a Peppermill Tower Room; and

--free transportation to and from the airport.

When: The deal is offered Jan. 26 to 29 and April 12 to 15.

Tested: There’s still availability for flights and stays for both date periods, a hotel spokeswoman confirms via email. The savings on this deal are very good; I checked Kayak.com and found that flights alone between LAX and Reno cost $208 per person.

Flyaway packages are offered from San Jose and Oakland too.
