When Anthem of the Seas is christened April 20, British travel agent Emma Wilby will be singing and officiating at the bash for Royal Caribbean International's newest mega-ship.
Wilby, 27, was selected godmother from a group of travel agents who applied for the honor. She joins a roster of Royal Caribbean godmothers including singer Gloria Estefan, actresses Jane Seymour and Whoopi Goldberg, and tennis star Steffi Graf.
The christening will be held in Southampton, England, and is expected to draw 1,300 guests, according to a Royal Caribbean announcement.
Features include an air machine that simulates skydiving and a capsule called the North Star (somewhat like the ones on the Eye in London) that hoists passengers 300 feet above the ship for 360-degree views.
There are also surfing simulators and SeaPlex, where you can ride bumper cars, go disco roller skating, and play basketball and other sports. And this ship also will feature the Bionic Bar with robot bartenders.
The ship holds 4,180 passengers. Its maiden voyage will travel from Southampton to Cape Liberty in Bayonne, N.J.
