3 California hotels among Jetsetter’s quirky Hotel Food Award winners
Hotel booking website Jetsetter took a novel approach to its 2015 Hotel Food Awards announced Wednesday: It ranked restaurants by what they’re best at rather than comparing them with one another.
Which has the best minibar? Where can you go where the food is as pretty as the people? The result is a smart, quirky and interesting list of awards categories that give you more of the flavor of the place.
In the West, hotel eateries received interesting kudos.
Solage Calistoga in Calistoga, Calif., won the Favorite Minibar to Raid award for being stocked with organic yogurt, Kind bars and Cracker Jack.
Also in wine country, Favorite Turndown Treats goes to the s’mores at the Farmhouse Inn and Restaurant in Forestville, Calif., near Sonoma.
The award for Room Service That Delivers on the Cool Factor goes to the Line Hotel in L.A.’s Koreatown, with food choices by Roy Choi. You can score a Thermos full of instant ramen delivered to your room, Jetsetter says.
And the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas’ club Rose.Rabbit.Lie was selected as the Hotel Where the Food Is As Pretty as the People. Jetsetter gives these examples: caviar tacos or a terrarium dessert carved from chocolate.

--Most Instagram-Worthy Hotel Restaurant: The G Hotel, Galway City, Ireland
--Favorite Waterside Menu: Six Senses Yao Noi, Amphur Kao Yao, Thailand
--Hotel Restaurant Where Locals Outnumber Tourists: Ace Hotel, New York City
--Best Breakfast Worth Waking Up For: Le Royal Monceau Raffles, Paris
Jetsetter editors made the selections from around 200 suggestions from travel correspondents, it said.
