Las Vegas: Bastille Day celebration means Navy Seals and bubbly

Share

Parachutists and a team of Navy Seals will join forces Sunday to help the Marché Bacchus French Bistro and Wine Shop celebrate Bastille Day.

Between 5:30 and 6 p.m., members of the Vegas Extreme Skydiving team will be making a jump into Lake Jacqueline, on which the restaurant sits in the northwest part of Las Vegas. A group of Navy Seals will then pull the skydivers from the water.

The bistro will continue the celebration of the French national holiday, which commemorates the start of the French Revolution on July 14, 1789, as owner Jeff Wyatt uses a special saber to slice the tops off several bottles of Champagne. A toast will take place as red, white and blue balloons are released over the man-made lake.

After the festivities, the restaurant will offer a special a la carte menu that includes dishes such as beef Bourguignon, duck confit Lyonnaise salad and sole almandine.
