Electric Daisy Carnival fans: Some Las Vegas tickets gone already
Thousands of fans turn out for the Electric Daisy Carnival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2013.
Organizers of the massive three-day Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas 2014 announced the dates of this year’s show -- June 20 to 22 -- and already sold out some ticket levels Monday via a newly created loyalty program for returning fans.
It’s the first time L.A.-based music promoter Insomniac offered the first crack at tickets to fans who had bought online tickets to the Las Vegas event in one of the past three years. “The first two tiers of general admission and the first tier of VIP are sold out,” a spokeswoman said via email. Ticket sales through the Headliner Loyalty Program started at noon PST Monday and end at noon PST Tuesday (today).
Next Monday, early-bird tickets will go on sale to the general public at noon PST, even though there’s no lineup yet for the dusk-to-dawn Las Vegas Speedway event. Last year, early-bird tickets sold out in one hour, the spokeswoman said.
Tickets for three days (no single-day sales) start at $249 for general admission and $499 for VIP tickets for the 21 and older crowd. VIP ticket holders receive access to viewing decks, cash bars, lounge areas and their own Ferris wheel.
In addition to the music festival, Las Vegas will host EDC Week from June 17 to 23, which will include an electronic music business conference and a new dance music awards show.
What does all this bring to a city that’s already a huge tourist magnet? The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the show brought $207 million into Clark County in 2012, a number expected to grow when 2013 figures are released in December.
Last year the sold-out event drew 115,000 fans, and capacity will be increased in 2014 to 130,000 fans, the Review-Journal says. As for the lineup, there’s still time to weigh in online about who you want to see next year. Last year’s performers included Tiesto, Avicii, Jamie Jones, Arty, Madeon and Rebecca & Fiona.
