Dallas deal: $100 a night for rooms at Rosewood Crescent -- while they last

Twenty-five isn’t really so old, but the Rosewood Crescent Hotel in Dallas plans to mark the milestone with discounts. Starting today, Wednesday, the hotel is offering rooms on selected nights at its 1986 opening rate: $100 a night.

Of course, you could scrap the idea of saving money and instead splurge on another anniversary special at the hotel: $25,000 for two nights in the presidential suite with use of an Aston Martin and other cool extras.

Or not.

The deal: There are 91 rooms and 29 one- and two-bedroom suites at the Rosewood Crescent, whose facade looks a bit more French palace than Texan.

Here’s how the 25th Anniversary deal works: Twenty-five rooms for $100 plus tax a night are available from May 27 to 30, July 1 to 4 and Sept. 2 to 5. Call to make a reservation (no online option) until the deal sells out. The hotel has set aside just 300 rooms (25 per night) for this yearlong promotion.

When: The offer and other discounts are good at the hotel through April 6, 2012, but the cheap room rates probably won’t last.

Tested: I called the hotel Wednesday morning and found availability at the discounted rate for July 3 and 4 (Sunday and Monday). I then checked online and found that rooms without the deal start at $300 plus tax on those same dates.

If you plan a visit the hotel at any time of the year, check out other 25th anniversary deals, such as $25 off many spa treatments and $25 for a room upgrade.
