Andrew Dice Clay and more play at one of the best-kept secrets in Las Vegas

One of the coolest little clubs in Las Vegas is home to some of the smaller acts that come through the city. Meet Vinyl, the gritty music venue at the Hard Rock Hotel with an industrial feel and room for 650. Courtney Love played there. Switchfoot, Yellowcard, Chevelle and Blue October, too. It’s one of the best-kept secrets in the Las Vegas music world.

Some cool gigs are on the bill. The Dan Band, the comedy band created by actor and comedian Dan Finnerty, plays the room on Friday, April 17. Finnerty and his cast of characters perform their own lounge adaptations of songs such a “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” “Lady,” “Feel Like Makin’ Love” and “Fame.” Who could forget their appearance at the end of “The Hangover” when they performed “Candy Shop” at the wedding reception? Those tickets start at $25.

John Cooper Clarke, the British punk poet, returns to the United States for the first time in 30 years to perform at Vinyl on Thursday, April 30. Rail thin, dark suit, sunglasses, a shock of black hair and an unrelenting and unmistakable delivery are the calling cards of this cult hero. Tickets for the Bard of Salford start at $20.

“Hello It’s Me” and “I Saw the Light” singer Todd Rundgren takes over the venue on Saturday, May 30, with his global tour. Those tickets start at $30.

The capper, of course, is raunchy comedian Andrew Dice Clay, who calls Vinyl his home in Las Vegas. His “Indestructible” residency started in January 2014 and shows no signs of letting up. Showtime just picked up his semi-autobiographical series “Dice” for a 2016 debut. Everyone in the audience is a target, and the night always ends with his dirty nursery rhymes. Hickory dickory dock, indeed. He performs April 18-19, 23, 25 -26, May 7, 9-10, 13, 15-16, 22, 24-25. Tickets to the Dice Man start at $59.

Tickets: Vinyl, (702) 693-5000
