Jules Cobb turns the very notion of "cougar" on its head. Sure, she's independent, with a successful real estate business, a relationship with a very cute younger man, a hot bod and a killer colorist. But she's also 40, insanely neurotic, freaked out about being alone, and worried she missed out on her best years while married to a knucklehead and raising her son. It works because her insecurities ring true, even when played for laughs, and her alter egos - her best friend, Ellie (Christa Miller) and her assistant, Laurie (Busy Philipps) - say the things we all wish we were brave or crazy enough to think of on our own.
