With AC Milan struggling to decide what to do about the extraordinary $150-million offer that Manchester City has made for Brazilian playmaker Kaka, David Beckham has suddenly been lost in the shuffle at the Italian club.

Nonetheless, Beckham has been guaranteed a starting role on Saturday when third-place Milan plays sixth-place Fiorentina at the San Siro stadium in Milan. It will be the Galaxy midfielder’s first appearance in front of the team’s home fans.

The game will be televised live at 11 a.m. PST on the Fox Soccer Channel.

‘Beckham will play from the first minute,’ Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti said after the Rossoneri’s training session on Friday.

Beckham held his own while playing all but the final minute of AC Milan’s 2-2 tie with AS Roma in Rome last Saturday. He is on loan to the Serie A club until March 9, but there continues to be speculation on whether he will return to MLS, and if so, whether it will be for all three of the remaining years on his contract.
